Congratulations to the Valiant Vermack Vikings!  Today, at Divisionals, we had a number of great 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in races and ranked 10th out of 25 teams in our division!! We scored 1639 points and took 38 swimmers to the pool.  (By comparison, last year we were 15th with only 901 points. The more people who go, the more points you score)

Here is a link to meet results from this morning's swims:

Events are listed here with medley relays first, then individual events, then free relays.  Please review this link to see how your swimmer/s finished.  If you have a swimmer who finished in the top 15 in any individual event, they have a chance at going back on Saturday. We will be holding practice tomorrow and Friday for swimmers returning for Saturday championships. We will have a psych sheet late Friday evening, and I will email everyone with their events.

The top 50 swimmers in individual events return for the 10/under meet; the top 40 swimmers in individual events return for the 11/over meet.  Swimming will begin around noon on Saturday. More info coming.

We also brought home a TON of ribbons, which we will place in the ribbon box tomorrow morning, as well as our CHAMPIONSHIP Trophy for our undefeated season!!  Woo hoo!!!

Also, for anyone coming down to Tech for the Saturday championship finals, there are special awards presented at the end of the meet, and Vermack's own Coach Charlotte will be receiving an award certificate from the Charles B. Staats Memorial Foundation at that ceremony. The Staats family has established a scholarship fund in Coach Charlie's memory, and Coach Charlotte is a first recipient of the scholarship for the upcoming school year.  For more info on the foundation: cbsmf.org. A few years ago our very own Coach Ben Rae received the ASA Coach of the Year Award.  It's always a nice shout out for Vermack when one of our own gets recognized :)
