Pool opening - May 31st Update

Sent by Vermack President (Krull, Jeff) on 5/31/2020. This announcement was emailed to all users

Here's the latest regarding the Vermack opening. It's still possible we may have the pool open in a limited capacity tomorrow, but I am waiting on some last minute news from Sweetwater. As of now, we are not a go for opening tomorrow.

Cleared - State orders – On May 12, 2020, Governor Kemp issued Executive Order 05.12.20.02, “Reviving a Healthy Georgia,” which allows public swimming pools to be reopened.
Cleared - DeKalb County Health Department inspection passed this past week.
In Progress - Sweetwater’s ability to train and staff lifeguards – Latest update – We should have some certified guards available very soon. Hoping to confirm with JJ from Sweetwater today.
In Progress - Vermack’s ability to adhere to social distancing guidelines. We have asked Sweetwater to remove some furniture to encourage social distancing. Be on the lookout for news on the reservation system for pool access very soon.
In Progress - Sanitization guidelines – Sweetwater has clarified the requirements based on recommendations from the CDC. We will adopt some of the items in the CDC guidance - Maintaining Healthy Environments. We have a large order for sanitizer and spray placed with Sweetwater. Unsure of delivery date. In the mean time, we encourage all to BYO Sanitizer and wipes.
